NEW research from Philip's Maps has found that cutting the speed limit by 10mph would significantly cut the UK's annual carbon emissions - and save lives. The findings also highlight the huge savings on driving costs for UK motorists if the speed limit was lowered. The results show the 10mph reduction would cut 2.3 per cent off total UK carbon emissions every year, save more than 500 lives annually and lop Pounds 195 off a car driver's yearly fuel bill. Philip's spokesman Alex Truby says: "The survey evidence suggests the 10mph blanket speed reduction is something the UK Government should look at very seriously."See the full content of this document
