Summary
Receiving double the number of points as per usual - six, not three - appears to be the new stick with which to beat the motorist. Granted, one scenario involves someone getting caught doing something like 43mph in a 30mph zone. Yes, I'm sure we all agree that it's not clever to do such a thing. There is a time and a place for everything.
Extrapolate this out to motorway speeds and all it would take for a half dozen points to appear on your otherwise clean licence is for you to nudge 95mph.
