Summary
Mail, April 15 A long-serving parish councillor and charity fundraiser has died after he was hit by a car in his village. Bernard Blashill, who was affectionately known as the "Welwick Relic", was fatally injured as he got out of his car to visit a friend on Friday afternoon. Alan, of Whitby, says: We have shown stationary engines at the heritage weekend for some years. Bernard was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by all. RIP Bernard.
Hayley, of Norwich, says: RIP Bernard, a tragic loss of such a generous man. Our thoughts are with Mary and the family at this sad time. There are no words that can make it easier. He will leave a void that can never be filled.See the full content of this document
