Why visit? Conveniently located close to Hull New Theatre, I can't say I have had a dining experience quite like the one at Garden Mews Tearoom before. As soon as my mum and I walked in it was like stepping back into the 1950s. The tiny tearoom looks like one you would see when peering into a dolls' house, with a quintessential old English style. Lace table cloths and china tea sets adorn the tables and signs giving humorous life advice hang on the walls.

What's on the menu? Afternoon teas, priced at Pounds 8.95, comprise a selection of dainty crustless sandwiches, a cake stand full of tasty treats and, of course, the all important pot of tea or coffee, I decided to go for this option. I thought there were maybe too few sandwiches to fill up on, although the stand full of cakes compensated for this.
