Summary
The menu: A large selection of kebabs (doner, shish and kofte), burgers, southern fried chicken and pizzas. Extras include garlic bread, chips, pittas, sauces, onion rings and salad - in case you're feeling healthy. Scampi and chicken nuggets, both served with salad and chips, are also available for children. Prices range from Pounds 3.90 for a small doner kebab to Pounds 4 for an 11ins margherita. A quarter pounder cheese burger will set you back Pounds 3.20 while a large, 13ins pizza-sized garlic bread costs Pounds 4.30.
How long did I wait? About 15 minutes. Long enough to have a wander around the town centre. Was it hot? Yes, despite the drive home back from the fringes of East Yorkshire, it was still warm when it was plated up. Taste test: Not being overly familiar with Pocklington, I took pot luck and plumped for Franks - and wasn't disappointed with the choice. My 11-inch meat special pizza, with ham, pepperoni, salami and garlic sausage, was fine and had plenty of toppings, while my partner's vegetarian, with mushrooms, onions, peppers and olives, provided a nice contrast. I usually prefer my pizzas deep pan, but Franks' thin and crisp-style was appetising and filling. The cheese-topped garlic bread was a little dry but the chips were crisp and crunchy.See the full content of this document
