Summary

Many of you will have been hard at work doing something silly to raise cash for Comic Relief. Although the fundraising is far from over for the team behind the charity, at least viewers who have been donning red noses and such like can enjoy some top-notch entertainment as a reward - and if you haven't yet dipped into your pocket to donate, then the stars are out in force to persuade you to do so.

Originally set up in 1985 by Richard Curtis, the charity was a response to the famine in Ethiopia. The first Red Nose Day was launched in 1988, raised Pounds 15million and began a biennial phenomenon.
