As Retford 2nd XI raced to 56 for the loss of one wicket off only 12 overs, no one would have envisaged how easily Everton strolled to victory by nine wickets with 14 overs to spare.

Skipper Nigel Hall, with four fours and two sixes, was the batsman responsible for Retford's good start, but when he fiercely struck the ball to mid-wicket with his score on 39, John Mimms held a quite brilliant catch.
