Britain's most desirable home is a detached rural property with a large garden. While 90 per cent of the UK population live in cities, more than half surveyed in the Desirability Index said their dream house would be detached, in the countryside (33 per cent), have good views (64 per cent) and be near nice places to walk (44 per cent).
