EAST YORKS: Visitors to the coast this Christmas are being urged to follow safety advice. RNLI volunteers will be ready to leave family festivities to launch their lifeboats and rescue anyone in trouble at sea.

Last Christmas and new year, despite freezing conditions and thick snow in many areas, RNLI lifeboats in the north, including Bridlington, were called out nine times.
