PLANS to replace police officers who specialise in rape cases with civilian staff have been labelled "dangerous" by a senior detective, the Mail can reveal.

Five highly trained police constables from Hull's public protection unit will be removed and their roles will be filled by civilian investigators, known as IO5s.
