WHAT WE DO: Precious Delites supplies frosted globes made from flexible plastic. The lights provide 50,000 hours of lighting time, are battery-operated, cool to the touch and practically unbreakable. The business was launched by Kate Precious, of East Hull . She spotted the unusual mood lights while on holiday abroad, bought one and then began researching where they were sold locally. Realising there was a gap in the market, Kay began selling in Hull and has now branched out on to the internet. Her new website, www.preciousdelites.com is translated into eight languages, underlining her intention to expand into the European market and beyond.
WHO WE ARE: Kate, 53, is a former tobacco company field sales representative who launched her business after being made redundant.
