Summary
IT DID not take many years for police in the Hull area to acquire their first Panda cars. The concept was introduced in Lancashire in the mid-1960s and by late February 1968 a small fleet of them went on show at Beverley.
Panda cars - on patrol 24 hours a day to assist beat officers - got their name from the two-tone paint scheme. It was originally black and white, although blue and white soon became more popular with most forces.See the full content of this document
