EAST YORKS: The regional chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is calling on the Government to help save local pubs.
New research shows pub closures in the UK have increased significantly during the first half of the year - with 52 a week closing. And a study carried out by the FSB shows that the average rate of closures has increased from 39 per week in the last six months of 2008, meaning a total of 2,377 pubs have shut over the past 12 months with the loss of 24,000 jobs.See the full content of this document
