Once upon a time, a couple of stripes on the roof, bonnet and doors was all it took to make your car "go faster". If only in your mind's eye.
I was not alone in thinking it looked the business; others were down right derogatory. "Naff" is one of the kindest words I'm prepared to recall about my sporting modifications. The car, unveiled in April, is based on the three-door coupe version of the Megane hatch. Available only in limited numbers and in any colour as long as it's white, its styling is meant to evoke Renault's finest moments at the motorsport Mecca that is the Monaco Grand Prix.
