WELL said, Mick Jackson (Mail, 1 July), but does anybody doubt that East Hull MP John Prescott will be skedaddled out of Hull the moment he stops being MP for East Hull? In my view, the timescale for departure will probably be about the same as it took him to drop his "working-class roots" when he was first elected.

Of course, he wants to become a Lord. We all know his view on that particular establishment, but when has what Prescott has to say ever had anything to do with what Prescott does? Of course, the worst insult will be if he decides to call himself "Lord Hull something or other".
