HAVING read an article in the Mail (August 13) regarding the intention of the East Riding Council to further reduce speed limits (admittedly ranging by just 33 to 50 per cent) on more roads in the area My suggestion would be to go a tad further and bring a blanket 30mph on all roads in the area, rather than doing this in a piecemeal fashion over the next few years should there be any further accidents.
Another suggestion that our local councils may like to support would be for the Government to bring in legislation to ensure engines installed in all new private cars and motorcycles sold here should not exceed 500cc and 80cc respectively to ensure their performance more closely matches modern speed limits in this country and more particularly in this area.See the full content of this document
