In the courts Robert John Close, 43, of Ferry Road, Howden, was given a 12-month conditional discharge after pleading guilty to assaulting Caroline Ruth Tredgett. He must pay her Pounds 100 in compensation and Pounds 85 in court costs. Zachary Anthony Marritt, 21, of no fixed abode, was given a one-year community order after admitting he dishonestly undertook or assisted in the retention or disposal of stolen goods, including a Peugeot car, a laptop, mobile phone, a camcorder and other electronic items along with cash and alcohol. Marritt also pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis and driving without insurance. A supervision requirement was made and he must pay Pounds 200 in fines and costs.
Dean Pawson, 22, of Finnleys Lane, West Cowick, near Goole, was banned from driving for 20 months after admitting failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and driving without insurance in Rawcliffe Road, Goole. He was ordered to pay Pounds 600 in costs and fines. Danny Spink, 35, of Swinefleet Road, Goole, was given a 12- month conditional discharge after pleading guilty to stealing a gas detector worth Pounds 188.09 belonging to BT.
