A BIRTH centre closed after a health watchdog highlighted staffing shortages had high levels of stress-related sickness, the Mail can reveal. Figures show stressed midwives accounted for more than half of staff absenteeism at the Jubilee Birth Centre in Cottingham last year. Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust closed the centre in July following a spot-check by the Care Quality Commission.
