Summary
A family-run Dutch company, Vacansoleil has been expanding at a great pace over the past dozen or so years and the British market is becoming increasingly important to them. In total, they boast 300 sites - France is the mainstay, but Italy and Spain are popular destinations and there is a significant presence in Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
As a confirmed Francophile, I thought the offer of seven nights accommodation was a good opportunity to try an area of France that I was least familiar with ... so it was we plumped for a site in Aquitaine on the south-west coast, quite close to the Spanish border. I had once spent 36 hours in Biarritz, perhaps the area's most famous resort, and have an intimate knowledge of the liquid assets of France's premier wine-growing region around the city of Bordeaux in the northernmost reaches, but the whole vast swathe of countryside in between was new to me.See the full content of this document
