HISTORICALLY, the weather man will tell you, wet summers - and let's face it, this one had been a washout - are often followed by much wetter winters. People living in Hull will remember all too well the devastation that is wreaked on communities by flooding, following the devastating floods in the summer of 2007.
Since this has been the wettest summer since 1998, we must be prepared for an increased chance in flooding over the coming months. The time for action is now.
