East Meets West As Footbridge Link Begins

WORK has now started to create an innovative new footbridge across the River Hull, marking a vital part of the ongoing regeneration around Hull city centre. A few projects around the River Hull corridor have had to be put on hold, such as the Boom, as a result of the current economic climate - not a problem specific to Hull but one that has caused challenges across the country.

London Firm to Run City's Bus Service ; E Yorks: Park-and-Ride Contract Goes to Southern Operator

THE contract to run Hull's flagship park and ride bus service is set to be awarded to a London-based social enterprise group, the Mail can reveal today. Hull-based bus company East Yorkshire Motor Services has operated the popular shuttle service between the city centre and Priory Park since it started in early 2003.

E YORKS: Dieters will complete a sponsored walk across the Humber Bridge to help shed weight and raise cash. The event takes place at 1.30pm on Sunday, October 4 and all proceeds will go to Dove House Hospice in Chamberlain Road, east Hull.

HULL: Tesco shoppers were last night evacuated from the store in the St Stephen's Shopping Centre after a power cut. The shop was plunged into darkness at around 7pm last night.

Rnli Memorial Tribute ; Inbrief [Edition 2]

E YORKS: Flags at RNLI stations along the east coast will fly at half-mast tomorrow as part of a national ceremony to remember crew members who died while saving lives at sea. A memorial containing 778 names of those who lost their lives will be unveiled at the lifeboat charity's headquarters in Dorset.
