EAST YORKS: Businesses in East Yorkshire can now get telephone services from a new competitor to Kingston Communications (KC). Nexus Telecom, which has its headquarters in Leeds, has agreed a "bulk commercial deal" with the Hull telecom firm which it says enables it to supply telephone services at a competitive rate.

HULL: City medical appliances firm Smith & Nephew has reported a 17 per cent increase in trading profit in the second quarter of the year despite a backdrop of weaker markets.
